Project Area Update
The PowerShare team is pleased to announce that eligibility for the Market has been extended to all Essex Powerlines territories. Areas in the Municipalities of Tecumseh, Amherstburg, LaSalle, and Leamington are eligible to provide grid services to Essex Powerlines through PowerShare. See the map image below for the project area, outlined in black.
Announcing Capacity Reservation Tender
Beginning July, a seasonal LongFlex tender will be issued to mirror the IESO Capacity Auction Obligation Periods. The availability price is $40.82/MWh, equivalent to an hour of the Capacity Auction’s $/MW-Day . The tender will be open to all participants to bid until October 31, 2024. A Winter seasonal LongFlex tender will follow at $29.39/MWh.
We encourage all prospective Flexibility Service Providers to reach out and register their interest on our Intake Form.
Role of Aggregators
Confirmed by recent successes in Participant Intake, we believe aggregators play a pivotal role in local grid services. By joining PowerShare, aggregators have a direct avenue to participate in local Capacity and Energy markets which unlock new revenue opportunities and build knowledge in the sector on Local Energy Markets and Distribution System Operator models.
